Words

Raymond Gabriel is a multidisciplinary artist whose work delves into the complexities of identity, extending beyond the physical to explore the multiplicitous nature of the self. Our identities are shaped via a complex mixture of historical and cultural fragments, constantly evolving and adding depth to our essence, showing that we live in an extra-dimensional state of being by combining memory, intention, and multifaceted identities. We transcend beyond our historical narratives, the media we consume, the roles we embody, and our creative expressions.

Raised in the Rocky Mountains near Nederland, Colorado, Gabriel graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May 2024. His work has been exhibited widely across Colorado, including at The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, The Center for Visual Art, and The Art Gym. Internationally, Gabriel’s art has been shown in Italy and South Korea. In August 2024, Gabriel was awarded a competitive residency at the Art Gym, Denver, where he explored identity construction within communities by examining the fragmentation of history and culture
